Hello world!
Mel is still alive and kicking. :)
Well yesterday added on to my already depressing month of freaking november.
So i was at the large zinc-constructed machine shop with my mentor.
We were settling some stuff in the enclosed office.
I remember telling him "come already, come already."
I was referring to the audible storm, with the thunder and all.
After that we exited the office and wanted to go back to the main building.
We were still in the machine shop... And then it started.
Suddenly there was this loud continuous pounding noise coming from the outside of the shop.
We stood there for quite a bit, looking around wondering whats going on.
And then ahead a distance from us, the glass windows started to shatter!
The banging noise continued and debris and dust started to fall all over the place, on us.
And we stood there, dumbfounded.
I was about to squat, i guess my natural reaction at that point of time.
And i wanted to call out to him to duck with me.
But i think he saw something worse.
Cause he turned to face me with this shock and fearful expression.
"No no no!!! Go inside go inside!!!"
And then he pulled me into the office which we just came from.
We stood inside and called for safety through the walkie talkie.
And we could hear stuff falling and people shouting outside.
The whole thing went by so fast, and it took only 1 minute i guess?
It went quiet.
He opened the door to take a peek.
The machine shop was engulfed in dust cloud.
After confirming everything is okay, we got out and gathered with the rest.
The freak wind storm actually shattered the glass windows.
Even the frames of the windows collapsed.
And the wind, actually ripped apart and ripped off some of the zinc sheets of the machine shop!
The area we were standing at, had a huge hole in the wall. o_o
He said he saw the pounding was coming in our direction thats why pulled me into the office.
Seriously, i dont know what is it that was so strong and sudden?!
My friends who were at another location, said they saw a twirl of wind hitting and passing by the machine shop i was at.
What the hell? Cyclone?!
Some people cycling around the yard got swept off their bicycle and their bicycle was dragged to far far away by the wind.
They cant find their helmets too cause it flew off.
And they ended up on all fours on the ground, slowly crawl to the nearest shelter.
Cause they couldnt get up with the wind.
The zinc sheets that was ripped off... It flew everywhere.
Two people got hit by them, sent to hospital.
One of the pieces actually landed ontop of our crane?
Which by the way is damn high and so far away!
Okay enough of drama.
I must be so lucky to escape uninjured.
At that moment, it kind of felt as though a lot of things flashed pass my head.
I think there was a split second i thought i was gonna go.
Like crush under all the stuff.
And at the same time i actually thought of my parents.
Like NOOOO!!! I CANNOT DIE. D:
But when everything ended...
I was a little bit shaken.
And i was sort of wondering... Am i really at the right place?
My life is worth more than this.
But i guess, its the same for everyone if they come across such situations.
It'll gradually fade off as time goes by.
Im so thankful for all the people around me.
I think im really lucky or something.
Or maybe cause im the only female? (yeah this again)
Thankful for my mentor-hero who was so afraid i'd get injured.
Thankful for my safety senior who called me immediately after he heard the pleas for help through the walkie talkie (we were chatting on whatsapp and i just buzzed him 10 mins before that i was gonna go machine shop to settle some stuff)
Well, the month sucked.
But i took a long hot shower last night and told myself its gonna be okay, the next day would be a brand new day.
And yeah, today was smooth and well, just awesome enough! :)
But i realised that i have a little bit of phobia of strong winds.
Today while on site with some of them, the sky was kind of gloomy and they were commenting it looked like it was gonna rain.
And then came a slightly stronger gust of wind.
And i actually felt goosebumps all over... :(
Oh well, will need some time.
On another note, i think its extinguished.
Like a fire blanket.
Knew it was gonna be this.
Never learn, damn it.
And i dont even know what is it right now? :(
